Zwischen 2019 und 2021 wurde die renommierte Strandklinik im Ostseebad Boltenhagen – eine Reha-Klinik spezialisiert auf Kardiologie, Angiologie, Hämatologie und Onkologie – um zwei neue Gebäudeflügel mit insgesamt 120 Patientenzimmern erweitert.
Die längere Aufenthaltsdauer der Patientinnen und Patienten sowie die außergewöhnliche Lage direkt an der Ostseeküste waren für uns Anlass, ein gestalterisches Konzept zu entwickeln, das sich stärker an einem gehobenen Hotelstandard orientiert. Ziel war es, eine Atmosphäre zu schaffen, die das Wohlbefinden fördert – und damit aktiv zur Genesung beiträgt.
Im Zuge der baulichen Erweiterung war es notwendig, auch die bestehenden Restaurantkapazitäten und die des Cafés entsprechend zu erweitern. Das ehemalige Restaurant wurde um einen Neubauteil erweitert und bietet heute 410 Sitzplätze. Das Café wurde ebenfalls komplett entkernt und neu konzipiert. Die Bauarbeiten wurden im Dezember 2021 erfolgreich abgeschlossen.

Between 2019 and 2021, the renowned Strandklinik in the Baltic seaside resort of Boltenhagen - a rehabilitation clinic specialising in cardiology, angiology, haematology and oncology - was extended by two new wings with a total of 120 patient rooms.
The longer length of stay of the patients and the exceptional location directly on the Baltic Sea coast prompted us to develop a design concept that is more orientated towards an upscale hotel standard. The aim was to create an atmosphere that promotes well-being - and thus actively contributes to recovery.
As part of the structural extension, it was also necessary to expand the existing restaurant and café capacities accordingly. The former restaurant was extended to include a new section and can now seat 410 people. The café was also completely gutted and redesigned. The construction work was successfully completed in December 2021.
