Geburt bewegt sich im Spannungsfeld zwischen Intimität, Sicherheit und medizinischer Präzision.
Die Modernisierung der Entbindungsstation der ASKLEPIOS KLINIK NORD am Standort Hamburg-Heidberg verfolgte deshalb einen ganzheitlichen Planungsansatz, der funktionale Anforderungen, hygienische Standards und atmosphärische Qualität gleichermaßen berücksichtigt.
Ausgangspunkt der Planung war nicht die reine gestalterische Erneuerung, sondern die strukturelle Neuordnung der bestehenden Bereiche. Durch präzise organisierte Abläufe, optimierte Wegeführungen und eine klare räumliche Gliederung entstand eine Umgebung, die Orientierung, Ruhe und Vertrauen vermittelt, für Patient:innen, Angehörige und Personal gleichermaßen.
Eine reduzierte, naturbezogene Material- und Farbpalette, warm wirkende Oberflächen, blendfreies Licht sowie sensibel integrierte Medizintechnik schaffen eine Atmosphäre, die Geborgenheit ermöglicht, ohne die funktionalen Anforderungen eines hochsensiblen Klinikbereichs aus dem Blick zu verlieren.
Die Umsetzung erfolgte im laufenden Klinikbetrieb und erforderte eine präzise Bauphasenkoordination, flexible Übergangslösungen sowie die enge Abstimmung aller Projektbeteiligten.
Entstanden ist ein zeitgemäßer Ort für den Beginn neuen Lebens, geprägt von struktureller Klarheit, funktionaler Präzision und räumlicher Wärme.

Birth exists within the delicate balance between intimacy, safety and medical precision. The modernization of the maternity ward at ASKLEPIOS KLINIK NORD in Hamburg-Heidberg therefore followed a holistic design approach that equally considers functional requirements, hygienic standards and atmospheric quality.
The starting point of the design was not merely a visual renewal, but the structural reorganization of the existing spaces. Through precisely organized workflows, optimized circulation and a clear spatial structure, an environment was created that conveys orientation, calmness and trust, for patients, families and staff alike.
A restrained, nature-inspired palette of materials and colors, warm surfaces, glare-free lighting and carefully integrated medical technology create an atmosphere that offers comfort and emotional warmth without losing sight of the functional demands of a highly sensitive clinical environment.
The implementation took place during ongoing hospital operations and required precise construction phasing, flexible interim solutions and close coordination between all project participants.
The result is a contemporary environment for the beginning of new life, shaped by structural clarity, functional precision and spatial warmth.
